Dr. Ian Kroes

FOUNDER, CONCIERGE FAMILY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

M.D., Stanford University

B.S. Applied Physics, University of California, Berkeley

Dr. Ian Kroes is a concierge family medicine physician and founder of Peninsula Doctor, an independent concierge medical practice located in Menlo Park, California.

Dr. Kroes was born, raised, and educated in the Bay Area and comes from a proud tradition of family medicine. His father, Dr. John Kroes, was a beloved local physician who spent decades providing deeply personal care to families in the community. Inspired by his father’s lifelong relationships with patients, Dr. Kroes decided early on to follow in his footsteps.

After completing his undergraduate studies in applied physics at the University of California, Berkeley, and earning his medical degree from Stanford University, Dr. Kroes spent more than a decade at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, where he often cared for multiple generations of the same family. He later founded Peninsula Doctor to bring this personal, relationship-centered approach to medicine into a modern concierge practice.

Dr. Kroes is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Society for Nutrition. He holds admitting privileges at Stanford, El Camino, and Sequoia Hospitals, as well as Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, and lectures at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Over nearly two decades in family medicine, Dr. Kroes has cared for patients through every stage of life—from children to adults, families, and community elders. Like his father before him, he remains guided by a simple conviction: doctors should truly know their patients, and the best healthcare is built on relationships that deepen over time.
